SELF PORTRAITS 2:
FURTHER EVOLUTION OF A PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECT
by Florence W Deems

From time to time since I wrote the first page, I have indeed turned the camera on myself again. Don't ask me why! I must be a masochist for wanting to expose my ever-growing crop of wrinkles to cyber scrutiny! Anyway, here goes the the next batch.

Had to lower the camera a bit to get my whole face |
At an electronics exhibit, there was a TV mounted on the wall with a camera above it. The sign explained that if we stood in front of it long enough, we'd begin to see ourselves. And the longer we stood, the more details this software program would pick up and display. Well, it seemed to take "forever," so I did only two "portraits."

Again in front of a mirror, I attempted to be creative and used a so-called "Dutch Angle" - tilting the camera while shooting. For the image on the right, I discovered that I could see my reflection in the shiny inner surface of a large colander.

A "holey" portrait |
One day I set up the camera on a tripod on my patio. Then I snuck into a large monstera plant and tried to look like a scary intruder. My expression failed, so I "painted" the image in Photoshop. In February, the month I like least in the whole year, I set up camera on tripod and "expressed my opinion."

Lying down on the job for a while! |
In October when the leaves turn and the weather gets chilly, thoughts turn to Halloween and ghosts, as my thoughts did recently (2012). This so frightened me that I became a pale representative of myself!

Is this the end? Probably not. But I think I need to get more creative, so perhaps if you check back later, you might find me in some strange poses or circumstances.
